Youngest child of Daniel Shawhan Jr. and Margaret Bell — sibling of John Shawhan (direct line, Gen 4), not himself part of the traced direct line to Spencer. Founder of "Shawhan's Station," the Bourbon County, Kentucky community later renamed Shawhan in his family's honor. War of 1812 veteran, Kentucky legislator, and one of the county's largest landholders; carried on the family distilling business with brother John after buying out brother Daniel III's share in 1825. Died at 90, thrown from a horse.
